Minha de São Domingo

We found the most beautiful wild camp spot by some waterfalls of the river Guadiana, slightly worried water would rise with the tide up to our tent (there was grass, therefore water must be coming from somewhere) but spent very quiet night with the rushing sound of water.
Met Benoît from Alsace who is walking around Portugal and shared stories well after breakfast so we set off late towards the disused mines.
But despite a very hard hill to leave Mértola, the journey was pleasant and short (17km!), had a long lunch, spoke with one local Portuguese man who now lives in Bristol and another who lives in Geneva. I headed for the beach by the warm waters of the lake, John headed for the museum and we found yet again another lovely camping spot on the secluded shore.
